Congratulations to all the winners, and thanks for another successful year!
In 2020, keeping everyone safe and healthy while still providing fun was our #1 priority. Things look a lot different this year, but keeping everyone healthy and comfortable is still critical to our planning.
Recently, our nation's top infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, has been letting Americans know that we can responsibly Trick-or-Treat this year!!!
Read or listen to this article from October 12, watch the video at left, or learn more in the Seattle Times.
CDC Director Dr. Rocehlle Walensky agrees, "If you're able to be outdoors, absolutely. Limit crowds. I wouldn't necessarily go to a crowded — crowded Halloween party, but I think that we should be able to let our kids go trick-or-treating in small groups."
We're beyond excited that trusted experts and professionals have given Halloween the green light this year, but we also know that we want everyone to feel 100% safe and comfortable when they take part in Halloweek 2021.
For more on how we will be keeping things safe, please read on.
As of mid-October w know there is still no approved vaccine available for kids under 12. For their safety, and the safety of other kiddos around them, if you are coming to the house on Halloween Night, we'd ask that you please wear a face mask.
Additionally, if you meet either of the following conditions, you must wear a mask when you visit:
If you are a child under the age of 12
If you are 12 or older and have not yet been vaccinated
If you are at the house on Halloween Night and unmasked, we may need to ask you to stay back from the yard for the safety of everyone who is out to enjoy their evening.
We here at the house are all fully vaccinated and will also be wearing masks to ensure that we keep everyone who chooses to visit as safe as possible.
Last year we didn't let visitors on Halloween Night move through the yard as we had in previous years. We kept foot traffic moving in one direction around the edge of our property and set up our decorations so folks could enjoy them at a distance.
This year we're happy to be opening up paths through the displays again. We'll have signage and path separation to let folks know how to move through, and we'll ensure that families keep a safe distance from each other as they enter the displays.
Of course, if you want to remain on the sidewalk, everything will be viewable from there, and there is no need to come through the yard to receive treats or prizes from the Halloweek games!
Once again this year, all of our prizes and candy will be pre-bagged to ensure that we can deliver bags to kiddos safely, at a distance, and there is no grabbing and crowding anywhere in the yard.
For individual prizes awarded to game winners, we'll place prizes into a bag as they are redeemed to ensure that everyone can collect them safely. If you are not coming out on Halloween, we'll get them to you another way!
All Halloweek long (and some before then) we will offer a series of neighborhood-wide and online games for kids and adults alike.
We had tremendous success with our Duck Finding game last year as well as other online games like guessing the weight of a pumpkin (super-challenging from photos alone!)
This year, we're taking all of that even further with games that can be played whenever you like, as well as one that will involve daily challenges for a chance at the ultimate prize.
Taking part in these games is totally optional but is a really fun way to get in the Halloweek spirit all week long. If you win a prize, you can claim it on Halloween Night or contact us and we'll get it to you safely if you are not trick-or-treating (or you live out of town/state). More info will be available on the Activities page very soon.
Please reach out to us and we'll do our best to accommodate or provide answers.
